Why am I doing this? Well, it all started in April of 2021, when a close friend yelled out something so profound and so amazingly ridiculous that I couldn't let it die. What was it? Well...

"You dropped the porn in my crisps!"

Yes, this was the quotation that started it all. After that, I was collecting quotations left, right and centre, and purposefully defenestrating any context. Around the same time, some of my classmates also began to keep quotebooks; however, whose idea it was originally will never be known. Flash forward to early 2022, and I am thinking about the future. With a bunch of my friends leaving for college and apprenticeships and the like, I felt we would need something to remember each other by. In the old days, this would often be a group photo, but with the advent of smartphones I felt that is would be too insignificant. So then, I had an idea.

Over the coming weeks, I would pool my resources with Jay and Kit, who were also keeping books, to produce something memorable and, hopefully, fucking hilarious.

I plan to do a similar thing in sixth form. That is, if the A-Levels aren't too oppressive.

So that's why I'm doing this.
